WASHINGTON — Linguistic experts are saying there are big clues in the anonymous New York Times opinion piece that slammed President Trump as to who wrote it. Vice President Mike Pence, in many speeches has used the word “lodestar” and some agree that may have been used to throw people off track. There are smaller words often used including speech patterns that can help identify the person.
Experts use a combination of language used and computer science to help figure out who wrote documents that are anonymous or sometimes even plagiarized. They’ve even solved crimes that way. Some refer to this as forensic linguistics.
